Introduction to Scissor Lift

A scissor lift table, or a lifting table, as it is also called, is a work table that can be raised and lowered to the desired position, thus making working with heavy elements more ergonomic and reducing the need for many repeated and manual lifts. It uses a straight-line upwards motion which comes from the fact that the table is constructed with two scissor arms that run parallel which gives a smooth movement.

The table can be adjusted to perform under almost any working circumstances, whether your task requires the lifting table to work with assembly, welding or handling parts and components.

2. HOW TO USE A SCISSOR LIFTING TABLE?

scissor lift table uses

Basically, you use a scissor lift or a lifting table, wherever there are problems with heavy lifting, awkward working positions or height variations. You place an object or pallet on the lifting table and lift it to the ideal working height for the employee working at the table..

At a production line the employee can use for pack the product in boxes at an ergonomically correct working height and avoid incorrect lifting and turning.

3. TYPES OF LIFTING TABLE

a. Manual Lift Table

  • They are usually equipped with a pedal or simple lever to operate the lift pump.
  • They are equipped with mobile wheels with brakes, which allows them to be moved around.
  • Most manual lift tables can bear loads from 250 kg to 500 kg.
  • Some more expensive models can bear loads of up to 1000kg.

b. Electric Lift Table

Stationary Electric Scissor Lift Platform
  • They are sturdier and can carry loads of up to 4 tons.
  • The control unit consists of three buttons (up, down and emergency stop).
  • The electric operation gives the user greater control as they can vary the lifting height as they wish.
  • Stationary lift tables are not the only ones that can be operated electrically. Some mobile lift tables can also be electrically operated.
  • Available in Semi-autonomous and Fully Autonomous functions
